These tires show no tire wear such as smoothing but at less than 23K miles, chunks of tread are coming off of only the outer 1-2 of all four tires. There is splitting in what I will call the body of the tire as well. In the past week, tires will lose more than 20 lbs of pressure overnight. Maybe they are part of the big recall, don't know. I will certainly check.

Excellent overall tires, Michelin Does it again. I have had these tires on a Infinity QX4 (pathfinder) SUV for about 6 years and 30k miles. they still have plenty of tread to get to 60k Warranty or further. Tires have nice soft comfort, excellent braking and traction (snow too) but are still very rugged in dirt and minor offroading. I will remain high on Michelin tires and their overall value!

Issues Wtread Chunking
I have a 2011 Ford F150 purchased it in Feb 2012 - it only has 40, 096.3 miles and I noticed that the Michelin LTX A/S P255/65 front tires both have little bits of chunks missing all over the tread. I think that they are rated for 60, 000 miles. My commute to work is 10 minutes in a small town. One of the tires went flat due to a larger chunk of tread approximately 1 missing. I'm concerned that this has happened to what is supposed to be one of the best tires in the industry. According to my internet searches, this has happened to other driver's who own the same type of tire. I'm going to do some more investigating on this issue.
